Lytton & Lily is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. Our online store is designed to allow all our customers, including users with disabilities to enjoy a rich and rewarding shopping or browsing experience.
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adheres to many of the available standards and guidelines.
We do this by utilising good practice in choosing complimentary colours for backgrounds and text. We endeavour to ensure images are kept to a minimum in navigational areas. Where possible, all our images have descriptive tags to compliment their use with screen reader software and text browsers.
Our website uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for visual and design layout this enables our users to customise the appearance of the site to their preferences. Users without CSS will be able to browse a hierarchical list of contents.
If you would like further information about accessibility at Lytton & Lily online or require any assistance using our site, please contact Lytton & Lily’s Customer Service Team by email at email@example.com

You can find out about our website's accessibility features in the sections below:
We have designed this site with accessibility in mind. Some of the general features include:
- Clear, simple language which is easy to understand.
- The use of common web conventions.
- Avoiding the use of blinking or flickering elements.
- Use of validated HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
We use a number of tools to perform automated accessibility tests, but this is just one aspect of our testing procedure. Being automated, these tools are not as reliable as expert evaluation. Pages are also tested in a variety of screen reading applications and are tested in-house before release.
We try to use clear, jargon free, plain English language that is easy to understand. We have also included a comprehensive Customer Services section that provides extensive guidance on our ordering processes, delivery, returns and many other topics that may be useful and helpful for our customers.
Font and Text Size
We have tried to provide clear, legible text and fonts for all text and headings. Our text sizes are adjustable so you can use your browser to increase or decrease the text size according to your requirements. Go to view in your browser to select your preferred font size.
Use your web browser to select your preferred font size.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer: select View, then Text Size and select your preferred size
For Firefox: select View, then Text Size and select Increase or Decrease
For Netscape: select View, then Text Zoom and select your preferred size
For Apple OSX: hold down the apple key and press the + and – keys to increase or decrease the font size
Screen Flicker and Graphics
We have limited the use of Flash and other applications that are known to cause screen flicker.
Images and Graphics
It is possible to use our site without having to view graphics or images. All non-text elements, such as images have text equivalents by providing descriptive alt attributes for them. Purely decorative graphics or formatting images have empty alt attributes.
Cascading Style Sheets
Our website uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for visual and design layout. This allows users to override our styles with their own preferred fonts and colours for increased readability.
Links and Navigation
Structuring a website so it is simple and streamlined to use helps to improve the experience for all. For example, placing page items in a logical order and making the website easy to navigate helps people with visual impairments, motor deficiencies and cognitive disabilities. We've made navigation links consistent between pages throughout the site. The site is also fully accessible using only the keyboard and can be navigated with scripting disabled.
Using the tab key can help keyboard-only users navigate more easily around the web page.
Adobe Pdf Files
Some additional information is available on our website in the form of Adobe pdf files. Clicking on a link to these files will open a new browser window. For more information about reading these files with assistive technology, please visit www.adobe.com (opens in new window). Online conversion tools for Adobe PDF documents can also be found on the Adobe website.
You will need Adobe Reader in order to open and read pdf files. Click here for free download.

Pop-Up and New Browser Windows
Our website does not use pop-up windows unless they are appropriate. Acceptable cases, for example, are when it is important to see the browser window you've just navigated from in the background, and for viewing detailed product images. Our site is still accessible and functional with your pop up blocker switched on although full functionality may be reduced.
www.lyttonandlily.co.uk creates pop up windows for the user to view:
- Home Guides
- Product zoom
- All other websites
- Our brochure (downloadable Adobe Acrobat file)
- Online Returns Form (downloadable Adobe Acrobat file)
- All other Adobe Acrobat files
Forms and Tables
We use tables for layout. Clearly labelled tables help readers to understand the content on a page and to fill in content into correct form fields.
www.lyttonandlily.co.uk website can be accessed on PCs from the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer 5 upwards
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
Whilst Lytton & Lily strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
